No One Understands

Maria Shriver takes on Alzheimer’s through campaigning and spreading awareness. Maria got involved when her father, Sargent Shriver, was diagnosed with Alzheimer’s in 2003. She is speaking about this silent epidemic to bring light and hope to families and friends affected by this disease. Nearly 5 million people in the United States have Alzheimer’s and this number will likely triple in the next forty years.

“Right now, she is focused on educating the nation about the epidemic proportion of the problem, and the devastating effect that Alzheimer’s disease has on families.” Maria’s devotion to her work is not going unnoticed. She is teaming up with scientists, advocates, state legislatures, doctors, and many others to fight this disease.
